Finally! Again, a year had passed before the TF hoteliers could get together for a specialist meeting. Normally, these popular meetings take place at the beginning and end of the season, but the spring meeting had to be cancelled for the second year in a row. Of course, no way was too far, because this time we went to Carinthia. And although it is the sunniest province in Austria, the date was brought forward by a week to make sure that the weather would be fine. A pious hope ...

But everything was perfectly prepared. In the "Gasthof Post" in Oberdrauburg we were accommodated excellently by Michael Brandstätter and the kitchen also did its best. The tour planning was done by Michael Wassertheurer from the "Hauserhof" in Hermagor and the "Kuchler-Wirt" from Treffen am Ossiacher See, perhaps better known to some as "Friedl's Garage". But already on arrival it was clear that the joint riding day would be the coldest and wettest of the week.

So what to do? Alcohol is certainly no solution, but in this case it saved the day. The tour guides organised a bus and so we first went to Kötschach-Mauthen to the TF partner house "Loncium". Different types of beer are brewed there and how exactly this works was explained to us by the certified beer sommelière Sabrina, who had interrupted her holiday especially for us. Afterwards we went warm and dry to the Kuenz natural distillery in Dölsach in East Tyrol. Here, not only the traditional Pregler is produced with fruit from their own cultivation, but also all kinds of other, finest spirits.

So this 44th meeting will also be remembered fondly, despite or perhaps because of the bad weather programme.
