Not far from the hotel, at the Technical Museum (Neue Hütte 1, 98574 Schmalkalden), the innkeepers have now opened a field kitchen with charcoal grill. Here, after the winding crossing of the Rennsteig, you can enjoy Thuringian Rostbratwurst, Rostbrätel with homemade potato salad and all kinds of tasty soups. And on Sundays there are also Thuringian dumplings and goulash.
