Lichtenhainer Wasserfall - Gaststätte und Pension

The Kirnitzschtal valley with its curves and wildly romantic formations makes for wonderful motorcycle tours. The "Lichtenhainer Wasserfall" is located in the middle of it and is also the terminus of the historic Kirnitzschtalbahn. The restaurant and guesthouse has been run by the 5th generation of the family since 1901 and is one of the long-established excursion restaurants in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. Next to the Swiss-style main building is the waterfall of the same name, which is dammed up and roars down the rocks several times a day in the summer months. The Saxon home-style cuisine offers a house specialty: rainbow trout hot-smoked in the hotel's own smoking oven. It goes perfectly with a glass of local white wine or beer.
