Description
A Mexican villa in the middle of the French Alps? This is not unusual in the Barcelonnette area, because about a hundred years ago former emigrants returned as wealthy citizens and built houses in Mexican style. The "La Mexicaine" in Jausiers in the Ubayetal is a testimony of this time and today a charming holiday guesthouse. A few metres away, the pass road branches off to the Col de la Bonette, from which a loop leads to the highest accessible point in the French Alps at 2802 metres. After awesome mountain pass roads and magnificent views, typical regional meals are served at the large table together with the other guests in the evening. The landlords Heidi and Kristof also speak German and English.
