Hotel Le Chastellan

Gorges de Daluis and Gorges du Cians, the two striking and well-known rocky gorges in the south of the French Alps, are connected on their northern sides by the Col de Valberg. There in the village of Valberg, directly on the Route des Grandes Alpes, is also the Hotel Le Chastellan, a house in the mountain style typical of the region, with a beautiful old stone façade. The cosy rooms are arranged over four floors and when it gets a little chilly in the autumn evening, a warming fire burns in the fireplace room.

However, one's heart warms when planning a tour over the surrounding pass highlights, which include the Col de la Cayolle, the Col d'Allos and of course the famous Col de la Bonette. But it doesn't always have to be the mountain passes that promise thrilling curves and fantastic views, as is proven by the narrow, winding gorges in which mountain rivers have dug themselves deep to find their way to the sea. A ride between the narrow rock faces will be as unforgettable to any motorcyclist as a trip to the spectacular Verdon Gorge.

Those staying longer should have their hiking boots with them, as there are numerous exciting routes of all levels of difficulty from here. Or how about archery? And for skiers, Hotel Le Chastellan is of course also a hot tip in winter.
